Montgomery Extends Leaf Pickup Service
Residents get one extra week to dispose of leaves.

In order to provide additional opportunity for residents to dispose of leaves, the Village of Montgomery Public Works Department is extending its weekly leaf pick-up service one additional week. Leaves placed on the parkway through Sunday, Nov. 23 will be removed by village Public Works staff.
Leaves must be neatly raked on the parkway behind the curb and not placed in the street as they can clog sewer drains. Leaves placed behind parked cars, mailboxes, refuse containers and other obstructions that block equipment access will not be collected. Leaf piles cannot include foreign debris such as grass clippings or sticks. Leaves should not be placed in bags unless intended for collection by Republic Services/Allied Waste. Please remember that leaf burning is prohibited by village ordinance.
The village’s waste contractor, Allied Waste, is scheduled to collect yard waste at the curbside through Friday, Nov. 28 on the regular waste collection days, except for Thursday, Nov. 27, which will be delayed by one day due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Residents may put out one 30 gallon paper yard waste bag or one securely tied bundle of brush at no additional charge. Each additional bag or brush bundle must have a yard waste sticker. The maximum allowable weight of yard waste bags or brush bundles is 50 pounds.
