Montgomery to Hold Ribbon Cutting for Mill Street Bridge
The ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26.

The Mill Street Bridge in Montgomery has been closed to traffic for around two months and now the village will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its reopening, according to a release from the village. The ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26.
In July the Village Board approved a contract for Phase II (Design) and Phase III (Construction) Engineering Services for substructure repairs, deck scarification and overlay for the existing Mill Street Bridge over the Fox River. A contract for the Mill Street Bridge construction was awarded to MYS Incorporated in the amount of $431,753.
Construction improvements were funded by the new 1 percent sales tax for infrastructure improvements that was approved by voters in 2014 and which began to be collected on July 1, 2015. This is the first infrastructure project to be completed in the Village using the new sales tax revenues.
