'Night for Karly' to Benefit Family of Plainfield Woman

Karly Jackson, 20, was found dead Saturday in unincorporated Aurora. A Dec. 15 fundraiser will benefit her family.

Friends are working to help a family devastated by the unexpected death of a young Plainfield woman.

Culver’s of Plainfield will host ”A Night for Karly” in honor of 20-year-old Karly Jackson.

The event is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at the restaurant, 13449 S. Route 59 (near the corner of Route 59 and 135th Street). During those hours, 10 percent of sales will be donated to the Jackson family to assist with funeral expenses.

Donations to the Jackson family can also be made on a YouCaring site set up in memory of Karly.

Jackson, a lifelong Plainfield resident, attended River View Elementary School and Timber Ridge Middle School before graduating from Plainfield Central High School, where she excelled in basketball and softball, in 2012. She attended Lewis University in Romeoville, where she played on the women’s softball team. Jackson was employed at the Dunkin Donuts near the Louis Joliet Mall, according to her obituary.

Jackson was found unresponsive after Kendall County and Oswego police responded to the Council Courts Motel in unincorporated Aurora on Saturday evening, police said.

On Monday, Kane County Coroner Rob Russell said there were no signs of trauma and foul play is not suspected in Jackson’s death. Her cause of death is pending toxicology report results.

Visitation for Jackson is scheduled for 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at Overman-Jones funeral home, 15219 S. Joliet Road in Plainfield. A celebration of Karly’s life is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Three Rivers Church, 23901 W. Rolf Road.
