'Remembering Our Veterans' Is Nov. 8-11 at Oswego Museum
Little White School Museum to host annual salute to vets.

The Little White School Museum’s annual “Remembering our Veterans” exhibit will be held Saturday through Sunday, Nov. 8, 9, 10 and 11.
Oswego’s Little White School Museum will host a special veterans’ open house on Sunday, Nov. 9, during this year’s annual “Remembering our Veterans” commemoration at the museum, 72 Polk St. The open house will be held from noon to 4 p.m.
“Remembering our Veterans” will open on Saturday, Nov. 8, and will run through Tuesday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
This year’s exhibit features an extensive exhibit of rarely seen military artifacts selected from the museum’s collections by assistant museum director Bob Stekl assisted by museum manager Tina Heidrich, museum board member Stephanie Just, museum assistant Sara Kimes, and museum volunteer Darlene Stekl.
Featured will be uniforms and equipment used by soldiers from the Oswego Township area during the Civil War, World Wars I and II, the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam War, and Iraq and Afghanistan; along with photographs of area male and female Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Air Force personnel on the annual Wall of Honor.
New this year will be a special exhibit featuring military personnel with direct Oswego connections who were killed in action from the Civil War through Vietnam.
In addition to the special exhibit in the museum’s main room, its permanent military exhibit in the museum, featuring veterans from the Civil War through the wars of the 20th and 21st Century, will also be available for viewing.
