Winter Weather Returns: Snow, Sub-Zero Temperatures on the Way

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for counties including Will and Kendall.

UPDATE:

Snow, freezing rain and bone-chilling temperatures are likely headed for Chicagoland, according to a winter weather advisory issued Friday by the National Weather Service. The advisory is in effect from midnight until noon Saturday.

Snow is expected in counties including Will, Grundy, Kendall and DuPage Friday night, with light accumulations possible through daybreak Saturday, according to the NWS. Light ice accumulation and freezing rain are possible south of the I-80 corridor.

Expect more of the wintry mix Saturday morning before it transitions to rain, the NWS said.

Accumulating snow is possible Saturday night into Sunday morning, as well as Monday night into Tuesday.

As for the temperature, wind chill values are expected to drop to 15 below to 25 below zero on Monday morning and well into next week, the NWS reported.
