5 Stolen Cars, 8 Burglaries In Naperville In 1 Week: Police Chief
Police Chief Robert Marshall said the cars were left unlocked in each instance.
NAPERVILLE, IL — At Tuesday's Naperville City Council meeting, Police Chief Robert Marshall had a stern warning for residents: "lock your cars." Marshall made the public service announcement after he said five cars were stolen and "at least" eight burglarized in the course of a week.
Marshall said all of the cars had been left unlocked. He added that the cars that were stolen had been left unlocked with the key fobs
He said he was "again reminding the residents to lock their vehicles."

The announcement comes less than a month after Naperville cops urged caution following a series of home burglaries on the city's north side. After those burglaries, Marshall and the police department also stressed the importance of keeping doors locked.
Patch did not receive an immediate response to a request for more information about the locations of the car thefts and burglaries early Monday.
