SugarToad Helps Raise $75,000 at “Cooking Up Hope” Benefit for Rosecrance Foundation

Naperville, Illinois—SugarToad restaurant helped raise more than 75-thousand dollars to battle teen drug addiction through the Rosecrance Foundation at “Cooking Up Hope” on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011.

This was the second year of the event, as well as the second time Rosecrance invited SugarToad restaurant to participate in the interactive culinary experience. Chef Keith Willis was one of 12 top Chicagoland chefs to present a dish for the lunchtime chef’s tasting fundraiser. Guests enjoyed a Braised Beef Shank with Horseradish and Dijon Gelatin from SugarToad. This dish was just a hint of what foodies enjoy from SugarToad’s New Menu. Dollars raised from “Cooking Up Hope” help the Rosecrance Foundation provide about 350-thousand dollars in charity care to families who do not have insurance or personal resources to pay for treatment. In addition, money raised at Sunday’s event is earmarked to help adolescents from Chicago and the suburbs. Based in Rockford, Rosecrance is the largest provider for adolescent drug treatment in Illinois. Free screenings and assessments are available at five satellite offices in the Chicago area: Naperville, Lincoln Park, Northfield, Frankfort and Geneva.
