Chicago Man Charged With Domestic Battery, Assaulting Cop In Naperville

There was a brief manhunt on Monday after the incidents that led to his arrest.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Chicago man was arrested Monday on several charges in the wake of a home invasion and domestic battery incident in Naperville. On Tuesday, the Naperville Police Department released the suspect's identity and the charges against him.

Quincy Watson, 36, of the 2000 block of West 68th Street in Chicago, is alleged to have broken into a Naperville home on White Thorn Circle in a domestic-related dispute Monday and injured an officer while fleeing the scene sometime around 12:30 p.m.

Police allege that when officers responded to the domestic-related dispute, Watson fled the scene in a Nissan Murano, dragging an officer with the vehicle, causing non-life threatening injuries.

He was arrested before 2:30 p.m. on Monday in Villa Park. Watson's charges are:

  • Domestic Battery (2 counts) – Class A Misdemeanor
  • Home Invasion – Class X Felony
  • Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer – Class 2 Felony
  • Aggravated Obstructing a Peace Officer – Class 4 Felony
  • Criminal Trespass to Residence – Class 4 Felony
  • Aggravated Driving While License Revoked – Class 4 Felony

The Naperville Police Officer remains at Edward Hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
