Dozens Gather For Abortion Rights Rally In Naperville

NAPERVILLE, IL — Dozens of residents held bright pink signs and chanted at passing cars during an abortion rights rally that was held in Naperville Friday evening. The group, which included Rep. Bill Foster (IL, D-11), gathered in the wake of news that Roe v. Wade had been overturned by the Supreme Court.

The rally kicked off around 5 p.m. along Washington Street in downtown Naperville. Those in attendance brought signs with messages that read, "Abortion is heath care and should be safe and legal," "Not your body; not your choice!" and "Smash the patriarchy."

Just before 5:45 p.m., some members of the group began marching north on Washington Street. Friday's abortion rights rally, which had been organized by League of Women Voters Naperville, the American Association of University Women, the National Council of Jewish Women and Naperville NOW, dispersed around 6 p.m.
