NAPERVILLE, IL — The number of new coronavirus inpatients at Edward Hospital in Naperville has sharply declined compared to recent weeks, according to information from hospital spokesperson Keith Hartenberger. At press time, Edward Hospital is treating eight inpatients with coronavirus.

The new numbers reflect a large decrease in coronavirus patients at Edward Hospital in the past two weeks. As of June 1, there were 29 inpatients with coronavirus in treatment at the hospital.

Since March 24, 375 patients have recovered from coronavirus and been discharged from Edward Hospital, according to Hartenberger. In total, there have been 45 coronavirus-related deaths at the facility.

Edward Hospital is placing a decorative daffodil outside the hospital to honor each patient who has recovered from coronavirus.
