Man Accused Of Burglarizing 2 Homes, 1 Car In Naperville
Police say Raul Romero, 29, of Naperville, also tried to get into five other homes early Tuesday.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville man has been accused of burglarizing two homes in the city and attempting to break into five more homes, according to prosecutors.
Raul Romero, 29, of the 800 block of Beaumont Drive, was charged with two counts of residential burglary, five counts of attempted residential burglary and one count of burglary in connection with the Nov. 30 incident.
Naperville police say they were called to Wintergreen Circle just before 4:10 p.m. for a report of an intruder inside a home. Police reported that they found the house ransacked once they got to the scene.

Shortly after, police were called to Wildflower Circle to respond to a garage burglary, according to a news release from the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors say police got another burglary call around 5:15 a.m. This call was from a resident on Boneset Circle who reported finding their garage door open and seeing someone inside their car while it was parked in the home's driveway.

Romero was found hiding in the backyard of the home and was taken into custody, according to prosecutors. Police say they found credit cards, an Xbox 360, a coffee maker and other items scattered throughout the surrounding neighborhood.
In total, Romero is accused of burglarizing one car and two homes, and attempting to burglarized five more homes on Wintergreen Circle, Wildflower Circle, Boneset Circle, Azalea Court and Feldott Lane.
“The type of behavior alleged in this case can have a devastating impact not just on the victims, but also on the entire community,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a news release.
Berlin added,“A home is a family’s sanctuary and when a crime such as is alleged in this case occurs, it can leave every household in the community shaken to the core, wondering if they are next.
Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres said in a statement, "The alleged burglary offenses committed by this offender, in a sense, robs the community of their sense of security. Any time we can get a person responsible for such actions off the streets, our community will be safer as a result."
Romero is being held in DuPage County Jail on $150,000 bond and is set to appear in court Dec. 30.
