Naperville Cops To Be Out In Full Force As Labor Day Approaches

Police will be on the lookout for intoxicated and impaired drivers in the days leading up to Labor Day, Sept. 4.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Cops are set to crack down on drunk, distracted and impaired drivers in Naperville in an effort to help keep the roads safe as Labor Day approaches.

“Our first priority is to keep people safe, so we’re asking everyone to plan ahead for a sober ride home if they’ll be drinking or using another impairing substance,” Naperville Police Sgt. Derek Zook shared in a news release.

Zook added, “Let’s make this a partnership between law enforcement and motorists: Help us protect the community and put an end to the dangers of impaired driving.”

The safety campaign will be in effect from Aug. 18 through early Sept. 5.

The Labor Day safety initiative is part of a statewide effort funded in part by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
