Naperville Makes Thrillist.com's List of Suburbs That 'Suck'

Have you ever wondered if your suburb sucks?

Apparently, Thrillist.com has, and has gone so far this week as to launch its own “investigation” into which suburban towns truly “suck.” The list is lengthy and includes jabs at several suburban towns -- many of which are affluent and most of which the website deems boring.

And, yes, Naperville did make their list.

According to Thrillist.com, a website that targets Chicago readers, here is why:

Your friends who used to be fun moved out there. “We don’t even have much reason to come to the city anymore”, they say. “There’s actually a really great restaurant scene here”. There isn’t. They’re bored. They’re all cheating on their spouses.

Nearby Aurora also made Thrillist.com’s list. The reason behind Aurora’s spot on the list:

Hey, Wayne’s World was set in Aurora! They decided not to film it in Aurora. This is pretty much everything you need to know about Aurora.

Other suburban towns that got called out for ”sucking” include: Wheaton, Westmont, Downers Grove, St. Charles, Hinsdale, Oak Park, Glen Ellyn, Schaumburg and several more.

The Thrillist.com article received dozens of comments from those who agreed with the towns on the list and others who would have liked to see their town make it.

Meanwhile, a lot of the commenters took offense to the entire article. While others got a good laugh. Here is what one commenter had to say:

Man, people get really touchy about their towns. I found this light-hearted worth a skim just for the heck of it. People gotta lighten up!
