Naperville Police: Lock Your Cars

They reported more than 20 burglaries involving unlocked vehicles since April 28.

NAPERVILLE, IL -- Naperville police are warning residents to lock their cars. Since April 28, Naperville residents reported more than 20 vehicle burglaries in which the vehicle involved was unlocked.

In the Facebook post warning residents, police said there seems to be an organized group breaking into cars. They pointed out that cars parked at schools, parks and fitness centers in particular had been broken into. It is vital to put a purse out of view when leaving it in the vehicle, as many of these burglaries happened to vehicles with a visible purse inside.

The police department makes public its Public Safety Incident Map for exact locations of crimes committed. You can find it here. Use the panel on the left side of the screen to get information on specific types of crimes.
