Naperville Ranked 4th In State For DUI Arrests In 2020: Study
Carol Stream, Lombard and Aurora were also in the top 10 of the annual study by the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists.
NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville came in fourth for the most DUI arrests in Illinois in 2020, according to a new study released by the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists (AAIM). According to the study, Naperville police made 242 DUI arrests throughout 2020.
Here's a look at the top 10 suburbs with the highest number of DUI arrests last year:
- Decatur: 344
- Rockford: 304
- Bloomington: 254
- Naperville: 242
- Elgin: 233
- Carol Stream: 224
- Waukegan: 222
- Lombard: 220
- Cicero: 217
- Springfield: 215
- Aurora: 200
AAIM has conducted its annual survey since 1990. In 2020, they surveyed close to 700 Illinois police departments, with a response rate of 77 percent.

AAIM has great respect for all these departments and their diligence in removing impaired drivers from our roads."
Founded in 1982, AAIM is a group of citizen activists who have been victims of drunk driving. The group promotes drunk driving prevention and advocates for victims of impaired driving.
