Naperville Ribfest To Relocate In 2020

The popular festival won't return to Knoch Park in 2020. Where will it go?

NAPERVILLE, IL --- After more than three decades in Knoch Park, Naperville's Ribfest will have to find a new home. The beloved annual fest of music, food, and carnival rides must relocate because the Naperville Park District plans to revamp Knoch Park, Daily Herald reports.

Run by the Exchange Club of Naperville, the Ribfest raises funds to help fight domestic abuse and child abuse. Its organizers have been weighing alternative sites for Ribfest since, including venues that are located outside of Naperville.

Exchange Club Executive Director Rick Grimes told Daily Herald that despite the impending move, the organization is "doing everything we can to have the same impact on the community."

The shift in Ribfest's location comes with a number of changes to Knoch Park. With its most recent 2019 budget the park district announced that it plans sports field renovations throughout the park. Among these is the addition of a softball field.

In its more than 30 years in Naperville, Ribfest has been attended by thousands of people and helped the Exchange Club raise $16 million for those in need. Each year, the fest brings popular musical headliners to Naperville, including Pitbull last year.
