Nicor Offers $100K In Community Enrichment Grants To Local Nonprofits

NAPERVILLE, IL — Nicor Gas recently announced that it will offer $100,000 in community enrichment grants to local nonprofits to help foster arts and culture programming in the area.

Community organizations have until July 31 to apply for a community enrichment grant of up to $5,000.

Last year, Nicor awarded similar grants to the Children’s Discovery Museum, Children’s Advocacy of North and Northwest Cook County, Paramount Arts and Tri-City Family Services. In March, Nicor announced it would offer $100,000 in diversity grants to local nonprofit organizations.

“At Nicor Gas, we are committed to improving our local neighborhoods and communities by partnering with nonprofits who are making an impact through cultural and community services,” Nicor's Manager of Community Engagement Jackie Nagel, said in a statement. “Strong communities depend on good citizens working together, and we are proud to invest in organizations that hold these same values and support these causes across the state.”

Nicor's Community Enrichment Grants are part of the Naperville-based company's charitable initiatives, which have included helping electric customers in need at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
