Threat Prompts E-Learning At Naperville Central
The decision was made "out of an abundance of caution," district officials told Patch.
NAPERVILLE, IL — A threat prompted e-learning at Naperville Central High School for Friday.
The threat was received Thursday evening and the decision to shift to e-learning was made "out of an abundance of caution," according to a statement from Community Unit School District 203.
The news was shared with students' families via a letter from Principal Jackie Thompson.

Thompson wrote that the building is closed to students and "non-essential staff." Afterschool and extracurricular activities were also canceled.
The letter offered counseling support and stated, "We take every threat seriously and will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available."

District 203 shared the following statement,
"We are currently working closely with the Naperville Police Department to investigate a threat reported last night involving Naperville Central. Our top priority is the safety of our students and staff; therefore, out of an abundance of caution, we have transitioned to a 100% e-learning day for today, Friday, April 10. We will provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available."
The incident comes just over two weeks after an unfounded shooting threat against Naperville North High School. A swatting incident was reported at Wheaton North High School in late February.
