Waukegan Man Charged In Naperville Home Burglaries

NAPERVILLE, IL - A Waukegan man faces felony charges after he allegedly broke into a Naperville home and took belongings in early September. Julius Martin, 36, of the 400 block of Metropolitan Avenue, Waukegan, is also linked to other burglaries throughout the greater Chicago area, according to DuPage County authorities.

Police say that Martin burglarized a home on Cortez Court sometime between 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 2 and 7 a.m. on Sept. 3.

"It is alleged Mr. Martin illegally entered a Naperville home and stole a large sum of money, a wallet and other items. This type of personal invasion will not be tolerated in DuPage County and will be met with the full force of the law," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement.

Martin is set to appear in court on Nov. 4. He is currently being held on $250,000 for one count of residential burglary.

Martin's arrest comes amid heightened vigilance due to an increase in burglaries in Naperville.
