Tim Baldermann is enthusiastic about his re-election bid for Mayor of New Lenox. Despite serving as mayor during one of the worst economic times our country has seen in the last 50 years, New Lenox has grown in ways other communities hope to emulate. Tremendous commercial and residential growth has occurred, creating jobs and additional amenities for the residents of New Lenox. Route 30 redevelopment will remove eyesore properties, bring in new business and provide funding for a new train station.

The Village of New Lenox has operated with a balanced budget ever since Baldermann was elected in 2007. Not only is the village in great financial shape, this year marks the 5th year residents will receive a property tax rebate. The village has returned almost $4 million dollars to the residents through this program.

“We believe the village should use only the funds necessary to provide quality services while returning the rest to our residents”, Baldermann said. Vehicle stickers and pet tags were also eliminated, saving residents over $1 million dollars.

In addition to the property tax rebate program, the village, under Baldermann’s leadership, has taken other action to improve the village. The local road repair program has seen an increase in the number of streets resurfaced each year from 1 ½ miles to 7 miles annually. The leaf collection program has been beneficial, especially to the north side of town where there are many mature trees. Mayor Baldermann negotiated one of the lowest garbage rates for senior citizens of any community. “Our entire village board is committed to providing the very best quality of life for our residents and business owners” Baldermann added. Baldermann’s ‘Triple Play’ concert series has also been a huge success for the residents.

“I’m proud of the accomplishments that the village trustees and I have had, but there is still work to do. New Lenox is ranked the 9th safest community in Illinois and the 10th best city in Illinois for families. This is only possible by having a cohesive village board, hardworking employees, great partnerships with the other governing bodies and businesses, and compassionate residents that love their village” Baldermann said. “Let’s keep the positive momentum going!”
