New Lenox Area Historical Society Fall Feast Fundraiser

A Fall Feast Fundraiser hosted by the New Lenox Area Historical Society will take place Wednesday, October 14th from 4 to 7:30pm at the Harry E. Anderson VFW Post 9545, 323 Old Hickory Road in New Lenox. This year the Historical Society will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary alongside the 250th Anniversary of our country.

You are invited to enjoy a relaxing evening among friends and neighbors who share a love of local history. This dinner event will have a homecooked meal of delicious pork loin roast, mashed potatoes and homemade gravy, harvest vegetables, sauerkraut, and of course cake from Fleckenstein’s Bakery. Hot dogs and chips will also be available.

In addition, guests can enjoy a Silent Auction featuring a variety of items donated by local businesses and friends of the Historical Society. A cash prize will be given from a 50/50 raffle as well.

This dinner and silent auction fundraiser is one of the key events the Society hosts to help raise funds for the preservation of Schmuhl School and ongoing programs held at the school. Schmuhl School One-Room Schoolhouse is a “working school” where many area first graders spend “A Day in the Life of a One-Room Schoolhouse”.
