Credit Card Crook Escapes New Lenox Target Before Cops Arrive: Police

A credit card con artist slipped away from the New Lenox Target before the cops could get there and arrest him, police said.

The law was alerted to the subterfuge at the East Lincoln Highway superstore about 6:30 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day. A customer was “making multiple transactions using different credit cards” but took off before officers arrived.

Detectives were to look into the matter, police said.
