DIZZY! - A New Orleans Band Managed by New Lenox Native

A few weeks ago you may have read my first article about DIZZY! They released all four songs of their debut EP starting on January 17th and the last song was released on February 7th. For those of you that may be new readers, DIZZY! is a brother and sister duo born and raised in the amazing city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The sister, Izzy Gruner, is a fantastic singer and piano player. The brother, David Gruner, is also fantastic singer and he plays the guitar.

DIZZY! is an alternative funk band that also is known for playing acoustic covers with a rhythmic twist that will make you want to get up and dance wherever you are.

Their main influences are the artists Remi Wolf, Stevie Wonder, and Theo Katzman. The Gruner siblings seamlessly fuse funk, pop, and R&B into a style uniquely their own.

Just over a month after their first single was released they have grown from 400 Instagram followers to a whopping 2,100. That is an impressive 425% increase from before their music was released to now. They received 6k+ combined likes from all social media posts regarding the EP.

The results don't stop there. On Spotify they have combined 9k streams and have reached audiences in 92 countries. This put them at 4,200 monthly listeners. Three of the four songs released were playlisted by Spotify's algorithmic playlist called "Your Release Radar." For a debut release, these numbers aren't too bad if I say so myself.

They also just released their first official music video on YouTube for the song "Mess" which you can view here. The video has a retro setting with a bunch of 'junk' in the background to showcase a mess. The video keeps you captivated with new shots and funny edits here and there. The video showcases David and Izzy's silly attitude and adds a touch of playfulness and laughter. There are also lyrics in the video for those who are looking to learn them!
