Driver Of SUV That Struck Pole On Laraway Cited
A Florida man has been cited by authorities in Will County after he was seriously injured in a crash that closed Laraway Road for hours.

NEW LENOX, IL - A Florida man who sustained several injuries when the car he was driving went off the road and into a utility pole on Laraway Road in New Lenox hast week has been cited with multiple offenses and could be charged pending the outcome of toxicology reports.
Marcos Rodriguez-Acosta, 31, of St. Petersburg, Florida was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage after a single-vehicle crash Friday morning that closed Laraway near Schoolhouse Road for much of the early morning rush hour period. Will County Sheriff's police say Rodriguez-Acosta was the driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe that was westbound on Laraway west of Scheer Road when it went onto the shoulder on the north side of the road, crossed both lanes of traffic and went off the road through a ditch on the south side of the road.

The vehicle went airborne and came to rest after striking a utility pole and ejecting Rodriguez-Acosta into a farm field, according to police. Rodriguez-Acosta suffered a broken back, pelvis, ribs and possible internal injuries.
Hospital toxicology reports are pending and more charges could come based on the results.
