The New Lenox Township Highway Commissioner beat up an old man who stopped by to complain about a snowplow taking out his mailbox, police said.
Commissioner Dennis McPartlin, 64, turned himself in and was arrested on two counts of battery Wednesday. He allegedly knocked down a man in his 80s on Friday and then attacked another man who tried to intervene.
“The complainants advised that McPartlin pushed one of the complainants, who fell to the ground,” police said. “The second complainant told McPartlin to stop and McPartlin grabbed him and shoved him.”
