• New Lenox Verizon Store Hit In Brazen Daytime Armed Robbery: New Lenox PD (patch.com) — Residents in New Lenox are learning more about a bold daytime armed robbery at the Verizon store on East Lincoln Highway, where suspects stole dozens of phones before fleeing. New Lenox police used license-plate cameras and coordination with Harvey and Chicago police, including SWAT, to track the suspects to Chicago, arrest multiple people, and begin a major ongoing investigation.
   

• Resident Suffers Burns In New Lenox House Fire, Dog Rescued: Fire District (patch.com) — An early-morning house fire on Manor Court in New Lenox left a resident with burns serious enough to require transfer to a regional burn center, while firefighters also rescued the person's dog. New Lenox Fire Protection District crews contained the blaze to the kitchen within minutes, with help from Mokena, Frankfort, and local police, as investigators now work to determine the cause.
