NEW LENOX, IL - A look at some of the activity handled by the New Lenox Police over the past week:

Sunday, December 17

OFFENSE: Burglary to Motor Vehicle
SUMMARY: The officer was dispatched to the LA Fitness at 8:08 p.m. in reference to a car burglary at 2413 East Lincoln Highway. Someone broke a window and stole a purse. Last month, Patch wrote about thieves targeting the LA Fitness parking lot by breaking car windows and stealing purses.

Saturday, December 16

OFFENSE: Speeding/DUI

SUMMARY: At 1:47 a.m. an officer running radar saw someone speeding at Spencer Road and Nelson Road. The driver behind the wheel was New Lenox resident David Massat, 41, of the 21400 block of South Covey Court, according to police. "The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and learned that the driver, Massat, was driving under the influence of alcohol. Massat was transported to the NLPD," police reports show. Massat later posted bond and was released.

OFFENSE: Driving While License Suspended

Summary: At 3:04 a.m., an officer running radar at Haven Avenue and Nelson Road pulled over Devin Brady, 43, of Salt Lake City, Utah, for speeding. Brady had a suspended driver's license, according to police. He posted bond and was released.

OFFENSE: Violation of Order of Protection

Summary: Officers were sent to the 600 block of South Pine Street regarding a violation of protection order. Anthony Becker, 50, "was not supposed to be near the protected address," reports show. Becker was taken into custody at the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

OFFENSE: Identity Theft
SUMMARY: The officer was dispatched to the 200 block of West Otto Drive in reference to an identity theft report. The victim advised that someone attempted to open a fraudulent line of credit.

December 14

OFFENSE: Theft
SUMMARY: At 7:43 a.m. an officer was dispatched to the 600 block of Oxford Court in reference to a Theft report. The victim told police that they received notice that packages were delivered to their house on two consecutive days. The complainant arrived home on both days and discovered the packages were gone.

OFFENSE: Retail Theft
SUMMARY: At 7:02 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Walmart, 501 East Lincoln Highway, for a Retail Theft. The store advised that the offender, Javorise Wilson, 29, of unit block of Pheasant Run Road, Joliet, stole $71 worth of clothing and toiletries from the store. Wilson posted bond and was released.

OFFENSE: Theft
SUMMARY: At 10:19 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Silver Cross Hospital in reference to a Theft report. The victim reported their coat was stolen from a room while at the hospital.
