Man's Craigslist Ad Sought 14-Year-Old For Sex: Will County

JOLIET, IL - A 63-year-old man from Peotone was taken into custody Thursday afternoon at the Will County Adult Detention Facility in connection with allegations of inappropriate conduct. Christopher Forster, who lives in the 8900 block of North Offner Road, has been jailed by the Will County Sheriff's Department in connection with two felonies and one misdemeanor. Late Friday morning the Will County Sheriff's Department issued a press release about Forster's arrest.

The Peotone man was charged with indecent solicitation of a child, grooming, traveling to a meet a minor and distribution of harmful materials, the Will County Sheriff's Department said. Forster "was soliciting and grooming" someone "who he believed to be a 14-year-old boy for a sexual encounter," the sheriff's department said.

"In October of 2017, Sheriff's detectives began an investigation on a Craigslist post and initiated an online relationship with Forster. Throughout the course of the investigation numerous inappropriate and sexually explicit emails and photos were sent from Forster," the sheriff's press release stated. "(Thursday), a meeting was set up at a Crest Hill public establishment where Forster arrived in hopes of a sexual encounter with the juvenile. Detectives took him into custody for questioning and with the evidence collected during the investigation and statements that Forster made implicating himself, he was arrested."

Forster is slated to go before a Will County judge for a bond hearing Friday afternoon.
