'You Are Going To Die With Me' Teen Gives Himself Up

Jackson Zofkie rammed his car into a pole in New Lenox and then ran off before New Lenox Police arrived.

NEW LENOX, IL - The New Lenox Police Department announced that 18-year-old Jackson Zofkie, the young man who rammed his car into a utility pole on May 31 and ran off, leaving his injured 16-year-old girlfriend inside the car, has been apprehended. Deputy Police Chief Louis Alessandrini told Patch that Zofkie contacted New Lenox's Police Department late last week notifying them he was surrendering.

The criminal complaint filed on June 6 at the Will County Courthouse listed Zofkie as being a Tinley Park resident. However, New Lenox Police indicated that Zofkie's current address is in Frankfort in the 20600 block of Lennon Drive. "The officer met with ... Zofkie and confirmed that Zofkie had valid warrants for his arrest for failure to report an accident involving personal injury, aggravated battery and domestic battery."

At the time of the complaint, Will County Judge Roger Rickmon set Zofkie's bail at $20,000. After Zofkie was booked at the police station and his fingerprints and mugshot taken, he furnished $2,o00, or 10 percent, to post as bond.
