Culver Science Olympiad Team Going To State

The varsity team placed sixth in a recent regional event.

 

The Culver School Science Olympiad team recently competed in a regional competition at the College of DuPage.  The team has been preparing for this event since September, and their hard work paid off this month when they brought home 18 medals. Our Varsity team placed 6th, which qualifies them for state, and our JV team placed 4th. Our Students will be traveling to ISU April 20th to compete with other teams across the state.  Medalists include the following:

Varsity medals:
1st place - Crime Busters  ( Claire Embil / Leah Steinfeld)
2nd place – Boomilever ( Bryan Long / Kyle Steinfeld)
2nd place - Write It/Do It ( Emily Athanisou / Lejla Vojnikovic)
3rd place - Experimental Design ( Sedra Khan, Lejla Vojnikovic, Emily Athanisou)
4th place – Helicopters (Kyle Steinfeld/ Gianna Mahoney)
4th place  - Keep the Heat (Jimmy Brocar / Leah Steinfeld)
4th place – Anatomy (Sedra Khan/ Thomas Prieto)
6th place - Disease Detectives (Claire Embil / Jenny Pineda)
6th place - Food Science (Emily Athanisou / Lejla Vojnikovic)
