Ex-Employee Accused of Stealing Thousands From Niles Wine Shop

Tatiana Lopez is accused of writing checks to herself while she worked for Connoisseur Wines.

NILES, IL - Police in Juneau, Alaska have arrested a woman on accusations she stole more than $357,000 from her former employer.

Tatiana Lopez, 49, of Chicago was charged on an out-of-state warrant on Nov. 30 for theft, continuing financial crimes and forgery, the Niles Herald-Spectator reported.

Lopez was an employee of Connoisseur Wines and is accused of writing several checks to herself and signing the business owner’s name from 2009 to 2011.

In all, 95 unauthorized checks were allegedly written during that time.
