'Chasers' Shooting Suspect Charged With Attempted Murder
Des Plaines man accused of shooting in Chasers Bar & Grill parking lot Sunday.

March 20 Update:
Alen Hurem, 26, of the 9300 block of Landings Lane in Des Plaines, was charged with attempted first degree murder in connection with the shooting. He faces a 20-80 year sentence and is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

NILES, IL — Police have one person of interest in custody after witnessing a shooting in the parking lot of a bar early Sunday morning.
Niles police happened to already be at Chasers Bar & Grill at 9003 Milwaukee Avenue around 4 a.m. when they noticed some kind of disturbance taking place in the lot. As they went to check it out, they heard a single gunshot from the area and noticed someone fleeing from the scene on foot.

Police chased the person and took them into custody just east of the location in the 9000 block of Churchill Circle. They found a semi-automatic handgun, according to Niles police.
One person was shot. A 28-year-old Lincolnwood man was taken to Lutheran General with a single gunshot wound to his torso. He was last reported in stable condition.
