Glenview Woman Charged With ID Theft, Glenview Man Arrested On Warrant: Morton Grove Crime

MORTON GROVE, IL — The following is a record of incidents reported to the Morton Grove Police Department and a list of those arrested. Readers are reminded criminal charges represent merely accusations and all arrestees are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

ARRESTS

IDENTITY THEFT

Sofia Giron, 47, of the 10000 Block of Michael Todd Terrace in Glenview, was arrested on June 8 and charged with identity theft after allegedly using someone else's social security number to attempt to get loans and secure other credit. She has a court date scheduled for June 21.

RETAIL THEFT

Henry Carter, 63, of the 5700 block of Lowell Avenue was arrested on June 9 and charged with four counts of retail theft. He allegedly took merchandise from the Menards on the 6300 block of Oakton, exited through the last point of purchase. He would sometimes allegedly return to the store and sometimes keep the item. He has a court date scheduled for July 11.

BATTERY

James Minagan, 29, of the 800 block of Clinton Avenue in Oak Park, was arrested June 13 for battery after he allegedly pushed his co-worker.

ACTIVE WARRANT

Anthony Lopez, 22, of the 100 block of Elm in Glenview, was arrested June 3 for an active warrant after he allegedly was witnessed vomiting in a gas station parking lot at Golf and Waukegan roads.

ACTIVE WARRANT

Rosha Banks, 22, of the 6000 block of South Wood in Chicago, was arrested June 8 for an active warrant inn the 9200 block of Waukegan Road.

INCIDENTS

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

A resident of the 7400 block of Arcadia Street reported that the storm door of the home was slightly opened on June 1. The resident remembered closing the door, and the storm window to the south side of the home was broken. However, the window was still closed and locked.

BURGLARY

A resident of the 8900 block of Harlem Avenue reported someone broke into their home, but at the time of the report they were not immediately aware if anything was missing on June 6.

IDENTITY THEFT

A resident of the 9200 block of Newcastle Avenue reported on June 7 that someone had withdrawn $200 from her bank account.

IDENTITY THEFT

A resident of the 8700 block of Austin Avenue reported on June 8 that someone had opened multiple credit cards without authorization using their name.

FORGERY

A caller on the 8200 block of Lehigh Avenue reported on June 8 that someone had forged and cashed a check from a business checking

DECEPTIVE PRACTICE

A resident of the 9300 block of Waukegan Road reported that there had been two unauthorized withdrawls from his checking account on June 9.
