Images Of Suspect In Fatal Niles Hit-And-Run Crash Released

Police asked anyone who recognizes the vehicle to contact detectives.

NILES, IL — Police released images and video of the car thought to have been involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Niles on the night before Thanksgiving.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 24, a driver struck and killed 68-year-old Kimball Jacks, of Park Ridge, while going north on Greenwood Avenue about a block north of Dempster Street, according to Niles police.

Police said surveillance video shows that the unidentified driver did not stop after striking the man. A few minutes later, an officer witnessed a minivan run over Jacks' body. That driver stopped and cooperated with the investigation.

Jacks was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office ruled his death an accident caused by multiple injuries from being hit by a motor vehicle.
