Man Found Dead in Grassy Field Off Golf Road in Niles

NILES, IL - A 43-year-old man from south suburban Blue Island was found dead in a grassy field behind a business on Golf Road in Niles Monday afternoon.

Niles police responded to the 8500 block of Golf Road at 3:58 p.m., after a witness saw a body in the field from a parking lot. The man was later identified at Jayson Silver, 43, of the 13800 block of South Western Avenue in Blue Island, and pronounced deceased at the scene by telemetry shortly after police and fire units arrived.

Police said there were no signs of trauma on the body, and numerous cans of dust off spray were found nearby.

The area where the body was found is in one of the busiest sections of Niles, right off the intersection of Golf Road and Milwaukee Avenue.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office arrived on the scene at 6:30 p.m., when they transported the body to their office.

The death investigation now awaits results of an autopsy and toxicology report from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
