Masked Gunman Robs Gas Station: Morton Grove Crime Reports

MORTON GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Morton Grove Police Department as a record of police activity. Readers are reminded that an arrest by the police does not constitute a finding of guilt, criminal charges — representing merely accusations by the state — are often dropped or reduced and all persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
IDENTITY THEFT
On Jan. 24, a resident in the 8200 block of Mango Avenue told police someone had withdrawn over $15,000 from a Chase saving account.

IDENTITY THEFT
On Jan. 31, a resident in the 9200 block of Marion Avenue reported someone had used her social security number to open a Comcast account.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE
On Feb. 2, a resident in the 6400 block of Hoffman Terrace reported someone had stolen a front license plate from a vehicle.

HOME BURGLARY
On Feb. 2, a resident in the 8300 block of Gross Point Road reported that someone broke open a door and burglarized their home while they were away.
ASSIST OTHER DEPARTMENT
On Feb. 4, police found a vehicle and suspect in the 9300 block of Waukegan Road that were wanted by Northbrook Police Department for a retail theft.
ARMED ROBBERY
On Feb. 6, an employee at the Mobil gas station in the 9500 block of Waukegan Road reported being robbed shortly after 1 a.m. by an man dressed all in black, wearing a black ski mask and described as a black man. The unidentified suspect pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the clerk and demanded all the money in the register. The gunman took cash and cigarettes before fleeing in a black four-door sedan.

ARRESTS
A 54-year-old Morton Grove man was arrested near the intersection of Austin Avenue and Dempster Street on Jan. 28 and charged with speeding between 65 and 76 mph headed eastbound on Dempster.
Jacqueline M. Dunn, 44, of the 1900 block of Foster Avenue, Evanston, was arrested on Jan. 30 in the 7200 block of Dempster Street on an active arrest warrant connected to multiple incidents of retail theft in Skokie and Morton Grove.
Ki-Jana Humphreys, 23, of the 8900 block of Marmora Avenue, Morton Grove, was arrested on Feb. 3 in the 5900 block of Dempster Street and charged with retail theft for allegedly stealing a bottle of alcohol.
