MORTON GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Morton Grove Police Department as a record of police activity. Criminal charges can be dropped or reduced and all defendants are innocent until their guilt is established by a court.
SHOPLIFTING
On March 13, a 57-year-old woman, of the 0-100 block of Main Street in Northfield, was arrested for stealing cosmetics and clothing at TJ Maxx at 7250 Dempster.

On March 13, a 24-year-old man, of the 4900 block of Church in Skokie, was stopped for traffic violations, found to be in possession of cannabis and issued a citation.
IDENTITY THEFT

On March 9, a man reported he got a suspicious call from a man whose caller ID showed Bank of America but who was asking for the man to provide credit card information. The man said he he would call the bank the following day. He said he went to the bank and was told someone had hacked the bank and gotten his account information. There was no reported loss at the time of the report.
On March 2, a victim on the 8800 block of Moody said he was notified by Social Security Administration that his social security number was compromised.
DUI
On March 7, a 28-year-old man, of the 2200 block of Crain in Evanston, was arrested for driving 64 mph in a 30 mph zone.
VIOLATION OF ORDER OF PROTECTION
On March 8, a 43-year-old man, of the 8800 block of Meade in Morton Grove, was arrested for violating an active order of protection.
THEFT
On March 2, a man reported someone had stolen a Christmas tree as well as decorations he had left on a cart in a parking lot in the 8300 block of Callie.
On March 12, a woman reported someone had unzipped her purse and stolen her wallet as it sat in her shopping cart at a store in the 7200 block of Dempster.
FRAUD
On March 9, a man said he bought a $500 Target gift card and gave the information to someone claiming to be an agent of the IRS. Police contacted Target and stopped any funds being removed. There was no financial loss to the victim.
On March 11, a man reported someone had broken into his landscape trailer on the 7900 block of Caldwell and had stolen equipment.
CANNABIS POSSESSION
On March 9, a 23-year-old woman, of the 8800 block of Dee in Des Plaines, who was a passenger of a vehicle that had been pulled over on the 6300 block of Dempster was cited for possession of 30 grams or less of cannabis.
On March 9, a woman of the 8200 block of Houston in Chicago was involved in a vehicle accident at the corner of Central and Greenwood and found to be in possession of cannabis. She was issued a Morton Grove local citation.
On March 11, a 27-year-old man, of the 2600 block of Oakton in Park Ridge, was found asleep behind the wheel of his car at the intersection of Oakton and Caldwell. Police said the car smelled of marijuana and the driver admitting to having smoked it. He failed a field sobriety test, refused a blood draw and was arrested .
On March 13, a 21-year-old man, of the 9000 block of Lacrosse in Skokie, was stopped for a traffic violation at the intersection of Church and Marmora and found to be in possession of marijuana and issued a citation.
