Morton Grove Crime: Restaurant Purse Snatching, DUI, Drugs
Morton Grove police reports: Feb. 23 - March 2

MORTON GROVE, IL — The following incidents were reported to the Morton Grove police during the past week and some subjects were charged with a crime. Readers are reminded that an arrest by the police does not constitute a finding of guilt, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
DUI/HIT AND RUN

On Feb. 25, Margaret T. Kelly, 44, of the 6800 block of Kenton in Lincolnwood, walked away from a car accident at Central and Dempster. She was later found and identified by witnesses before being arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and DUI. She refused all tests, police said.
On Feb. 28, Farhan Haroon, 30, of the 8900 block of Lacrosse in Skokie, was stopped for a traffic violation, failed a sobriety test by refusing to take a breath sample and was arrested for DUI.

ORDINANCE VIOLATION
On Feb. 22, an employee at 7630 Dempster sold tobacco to an underage minor.
CREDIT CARD FRAUD
On Feb. 23, a caller on the 8300 block of Callie stated that her debit card information was used to withdraw funds from her account.
BURGLARY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE
On Feb. 23, a caller on the 6300 block of Oakton said someone entered his van and stole tools.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On Feb. 25, a caller reported someone broke the windows of his vehicle while it was parked in TJ
Max parking lot at 7250 Dempster.
THEFT
On Feb. 25, a caller reported that a woman entered the San Soo Kab San restaurant and grabbed a purse from the kitchen area at 7901 Golf.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
On Feb. 27, a caller said someone spray painted to back to back letter “B”s on a wall at 8601 Menard.
RECKLESS DRIVING
On Feb. 23, a 25-year-old Winnetka man was pulled over at Dempster and Callie and arrested for for driving down the median at a high rate of speed and cutting off traffic.
HIT AND RUN
On Feb. 24, a 51-year-old Chicago woman at Lincoln and Menard left the scene of an accident two days earlier, failing to file a police report.
DRUG POSSESSION
On Feb. 23, a 23-year-old Des Plaines woman was pulled over for traffic violations and cited for possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.
On March 1, a 21-year-old man of the 1900 block of Des Plaines was stopped for a traffic violation when police smelled marijuana coming from his car and arrested him for cannabis and drug paraphernalia.
