New Technology, Curriculum at Niles Schools

Students in District 64 went back to school this week. This year for them will mean new curriculum, and new technology.

Students didn't only see new faces when they entered the classroom inPark Ridge-Nile School District 64this week, they also were met withnew curriculum standards and new technology, the Park Ridge Sun-Times reports.
The district has new math curriculum for students in kindergarten through eighth based upon the state's common core standards. The district is also preparing for a move from paper to computer testing by implementing new technology. This school year all kindergarten through fifth-grade classrooms in District 64 will be equipped with Smart Boards, while Sixth, seventh and eighth-graders will use interactive dry-erase boards to explore their new math resources. The district is also purchasing more Samsung Chromebook computers and more iPads the publication reports.
