Niles Man Douses Porch With Gas, Threatens to Light Girlfriend, Himself on Fire: Cops

The girlfriend was able to escape with the couple's 2 children Sunday and contact police.

Niles, IL—A Niles man is accused of pouring gas in his yard Sunday and threatening to light himself and his girlfriend on fire, the Niles Herald-Spectator reports.

Harvey E. Moore, 43, f the 6500 block of Ebinger Drive, was arrested and charged with aggravated arson in the incident. He is being held on $100,000 bail, and his court date is July 19.

According to Niles police, Moore came home drunk around 3 a.m. and poured gasoline on the back porch and threatened to burn himself and his girlfriend, the report stated. The girlfriend then escaped with the couple's two children and contacted police, the report added.
