INCIDENTS

THEFT

A resident told police the front tire of their bicycle was stolen while being locked up at the Metra Station in the 8500 block of Lehigh Avenue on July 11.

IDENTITY THEFT

A resident told police on July 12 that someone had racked up multiple unauthorized charges to their Capital One card.

FRAUD

A resident told police that after making a payment to rent a house found on Craigslist, it turned out there was no such house. The resident was unable to find a physical structure with the associated address and unable to track down the purported renter since transferring the money, police were told on July 13.

CAR BURGLARY

On July 18, a resident in the 7800 block of Linder Avenue told police someone had entered their unlocked vehicle and rifled through items that were inside its glove box. The resident told police there was nothing missing.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

On July 19, a resident told police there was graffiti on the playground equipment at a school in the 8700 block of Menard Avenue.

ARRESTS

WARRANT/SUSPENDED LICENSE

Waleed Hamad, 40, of the 8500 block of Fernald, was stopped for a traffic violation and found to have been driving with a suspended license at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and School Street on July 15. He was also found to have an active warrant issued by the Village of Norridge, police said.

WARRANT

Michael A. Barbosa Gomez, 25, of the 28000 block of Arcadia Road in Lake Bluff, was arrested on July 16 near the intersection of Austin Avenue and Monroe Street. Police said he was stopped for a traffic violation and found to have an active warrant issued by the City of Waukegan. He was arrested and also charged with unlawful use of a weapon for being in possession of brass knuckles, and he was issued a Morton Grove local ordinance citation for possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

WARRANT

Ljuban Juric, 68, of the 9300 block of Normandy Avenue, was arrested July 16 in the 5800 block of Dempster for having an active warrant, police said.

RETAIL THEFT

A 56-year-old Skokie woman was issued a Morton Grove local ordinance citation for a retail theft July 14 at the Menards on the 6300 block of Oakton Street.
