Woman Hit By Car in Morton Grove

"People sometimes assume they can cross the street whenever they want": Police.

MORTON GROVE, IL - A 32-year-old woman was hit by a car around 6 a.m. Thursday morning while crossing the street against a red light at Austin Avenue and Dempster Street.

The woman was released from the scene with minor injuries and the driver was not charged, according to the Morton Grove Champion.

“People sometimes assume they can cross the street whenever they want,” said Morton Grove Police Commander Paul Yaras. “She crossed against the light and got hit.”
