• Woman left seriously injured in ICU after being stabbed unprovoked after trying to break up fight in North Chicago (lakemchenryscanner.com) — North Chicago police say a woman was critically injured and hospitalized in intensive care after being stabbed twice during an overnight fight on Sycamore Avenue. Prosecutors allege another North Chicago woman retrieved a knife from her nearby home, returned to the dispute, and stabbed the victim, who required surgery for serious internal injuries. The suspect remains jailed without bond pending a September court hearing.
