$11,000 In Louis Vuitton Purses Snatched By Group Of 6: Blotter
Incidents and arrests from the Northbrook Police Blotter for Sept. 27 - Oct. 3.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
ELECTRONIC HARASSMENT
A Canterbury Drive reported on the evening of Sept. 27 that someone had sent them harassing text messages.

CAR BURGLARY
A resident in the 3100 block of Pheasant Creek Drive reported that someone entered their vehicle between 3 p.m. on Sept. 27 and 12:23 p.m. on Sept. 28, but nothing was reported stolen.
RETAIL THEFT
Staff at the Lowe's store at 1000 Willow Road reported at 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 23 that a man and women came into the store with an empty bag before they were spotted at the customer service area returning a sump pump for more than $200. Police are continuing to investigate.

PURPORTED DELIVERY
A resident of an apartment building in the 1000 block of Waukegan Road reported around 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 28 they had received a call from a telephone in their building's lobby from someone claiming to be FedEx driver who had a delivery. The resident was not expecting any deliveries, so they did not let the driver in and reported the incident to police.
THEFT
A resident in the 200 block of Revere Drive reported around 2:15 p.m. on Oct. 1 that someone stole personal items from their backpack.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone did unspecified damage to the left rear tire of a vehicle parked outside a business in the 2300 block of Shermer Road sometime prior to 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 2.
ATTEMPTED CREDIT CARD FRAUD?
Around 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 2, staff at the CVS at 936 Willow Road reported that three men or boys entered the store and tried to buy about $380 worth of items with what staff believed was a fraudulent credit card. After the transaction was initially denied, the cashier offered to manually enter the numbers but the person with the card refused and all three left the store without buying anything.
THEFT/BURGLARY?
A resident in the 2100 block of Woodlawn Road reported on the afternoon of Oct. 2 that someone stole about $200 in cash and several pieces of jewelry from their home at an unspecified time.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Woodbine Lane resident reported on the morning of Oct. 3 that someone "hacked their Facebook account" and used their credit card information to make an unspecified unauthorized purchase.
SHOPLIFTING
Staff at the Northbrook Court Louis Vuitton reported around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 3 that five men and one woman described as in their early 20's stole three purses from a display worth about $11,000 before fleeing the area in one foreign type vehicle and another sedan. Police are continuing to investigate. (Last week, four women or girls stole about a dozen purses from another Northbrook store.)
CREDIT CARD FRAUD
A patron of the Northbrook Public Library came to the station on Oct. 4 to report that someone had made about $800 in unauthorized charges to their credit card after misplacing a wallet and checkbook while donating books around 3 p.m. on Oct. 3. The wallet had been turned in missing a credit card and the checkbook was not found.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Mary E. Anderson, 28, of the 0-100 block of South Baybrook Drive in Palatine, was arrested at 1:14 a.m. on Sept. 29 and charged with driving under the influence of an unspecified substance following a traffic stop near the intersection of Willow and Greenwood roads. She was also issued a citation for an illegal turn on a red light.
Roberto Negron, 47, of the 1200 block of Robinwood Court in Elgin, and Manuel C. Lopez, 29, of the 900 block of Countryside Drive in Palatine, were arrested at 10:19 p.m. on Sept. 29 and charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver following a traffic stop near the intersection of Dundee and Timbers Edge Lane. Officers pulled over the vehicle and searched the car and its occupants after learning the driver's license had been suspended. They found "contraband" and "several baggies" reportedly containing an unspecified amount of a white powdery substance that was sent to the lab for testing. Negron was also cited for driving with a suspended license and failure to dim the lights of the car.
