2 Homes Burglarized; Apple Scam Suspected: Northbrook Blotter

Incidents and arrests from the Northbrook Police Department blotter from Nov. 3 to Nov. 9.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

  • A resident in the 4000 block Greenacre Drive reported around 4 p.m. on Nov. 1 that someone had gotten into their home. It was not known if anything was stolen at the time of the report.
  • A resident in the 4300 block of Terri-Lyn Lane reported someone broke into their home between noon and 8:10 p.m. on Nov. 2. Multiple rooms were ransacked and various items were reported missing.

CREDIT CARD FRAUD
A Dundee Road resident reported on the evening of Nov. 1 that they had noticed recent fraudulent activity on a credit card account.

IDENTITY THEFT?
A Tamarind Drive resident reported on the morning of Nov. 2 that they may have fallen victim to a scam via an email they believed had come from Apple. The resident provided person information via the internet.

RETAIL THEFT
Staff at a grocery store in the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard reported on Nov. 3 that a man who appeared to be in his 40s stole items after placing them in a cart.


ARRESTS

A 40-year-old Wheeling man was arrested around 2 a.m. on Nov. 5 in the area of Willow Road and I-294 after police pulled over a car for a traffic violation and learned the driver's license had been revoked. He was also ticketed for improper lane usage.
