4 Right Boots Stolen; Surprise Ohio Fake ID Delivered: Blotter
Incidents and arrests from the Northbrook Police Department blotter from Oct. 18 to Oct. 26.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
CAR BURGLARIES
- A resident in the 3800 block of Charles Drive reported around 8 a.m. on Oct. 19 that someone had gotten into their unlocked car. Nothing was reported stolen.
- A resident in the 400 block of Bordeaux Drive reported around 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 19 that someone had gotten into two unlocked cars and stolen various items.
- A resident in the 3900 block of Raintree Lane reported around 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 19 that someone had gotten into an unlocked car. Nothing was reported stolen.
- A resident in the 1400 block of Juli-Lyn Court reported shortly before 6 p.m. on Oct. 19 that someone had gotten into their car and stolen $25.
- A resident of the 3900 block of Radcliffe Drive reported around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 20 that someone had rummaged through an unlocked car. Nothing was reported stolen.
COMPUTER FRAUD
A Heritage Drive resident reported on the morning of Oct. 19 that they had gotten a call from their bank about a low balance. After checking their account, the resident learned that someone had made three unauthorized transactions for unspecified amounts.

RETAIL THEFT
- A male and female shoplifter came into the Village Square DSW around 11:45 a.m. on Oct. 19 and stole a handbag, rain boots and four right boots before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
- Four unidentified shoplifters, including two men and two women who appeared to be in their 20s, entered the Village Square Dick's Sporting Goods shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 19 and stole several jackets from the display area before leaving the store.
SUSPICIOUS TELEPHONE CALL
A resident of the 1900 block of Milton Avenue reported around 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 that they had gotten a scam telephone call. The resident said they got a call from someone who purported to be a utility supplier and threatened to cut off their service.

FAKE ID DELIVERED
A resident in the 100 block of Fairview Lane reported around 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 that they received a fake driver's license from Ohio containing their personal information. The resident told police the use of their identity had not been authorized.
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident of the 1000 block of Dell Road reported around 3 p.m. on Oct. 23 that someone had used their personal information to open an unauthorized cellular account.
HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 1900 block of Somerset Lane reported on Oct. 24 that someone had gotten into their house and stolen a jewelry box and various jewelry items between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
THEFT
A resident in the 2200 block of Founders Road reported around 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 25 that someone had stolen six pieces of various jewelry.
THEFT
A representative of a printing company in the 3000 block of Commercial Avenue reported that someone had stolen signs.
ARRESTS
Mitchell J. Rothstein, 59, of the 600 block of Pearson Street in Des Plaines, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 following a traffic stop in the area of Landwehr and Willow roads after police noticed him commit a traffic violation. He was charged with driving under the influence and ticketed for violating the median and failure to signal when required.
A 36-year-old Waukegan man was arrested around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 and charged with driving without a valid license or insurance following a traffic stop for an equipment violation in the 800 block of Waukegan Road. He was also issued citations for improper display of license plates.
Ronnie R. White, 44, of the 1000 block of North Laramie Avenue in Chicago, was arrested around 4 a.m. on Oct. 23in the area of the intersection of Dundee Road and Ash Lane and charged with felony driving with a revoked license after an officer on patrol noticed White, the registered owner of the car he was driving, had a revoked license. He was also ticketed for driving without insurance.
