• Northbrook Student Earns UW-Whitewater Scholarship (patch.com) — A Northbrook student, Ryan Groholski, has earned a CoBE Admissions Scholarship at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he studies information technology. The university reports awarding millions in scholarships this year, and local families are reminded that many applications for 2027-28 funding open December 1, with Patch inviting submissions about other Northbrook students' academic achievements.
   

• Northbrook Library Collecting Pajamas, Books For Children In Foster Care (patch.com) — Northbrook residents can support local children in foster care by donating new pajamas and bedtime books at the Northbrook Public Library now through Nov. 15. Collection bins are also available at the Northbrook Community Center and other nearby towns, with all items benefiting CASA's work with children in foster care. Donations must be brand-new and sized from newborn through youth 12.
