The Breakfast Club, the iconic classic John Hughes film, is nearing its 30th anniversary and will be brought back to the big screen at some Chicagoland theaters for two days to commemorate the occasion.
While the majority of the film was shot at Maine East High School in Des Plaines, some exterior scenes, including the famous final scene, were filmed at Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook.

The fictional name of the town in the movie was Shermer, Illinois (presumably Hughes’ take on Shermerville - the original name of Northbrook).
Hughes was a Glenbrook North alum.
