Cars Elude Cops At High Rates Of Speed: Northbrook Police Blotter
Three separate fleeing and eluding incidents were reported, according to police.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
RETAIL THEFT
- The staff at a retail store in the 200 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 4:45 p.m. Sept. 20, four people came into the store and took a pair of Nike football cleats out of the box. The subjects walked out of the store without paying.
- The loss prevention staff at a store in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road called police at 6:45 p.m. Sept. 25, to report a male concealed two pairs of shoes before walking out of the store without paying. The subject got into a Nissan four-door that was parked in a handicap spot just outside the doors.

- A police officer saw a 2011 gray Honda traveling at a high rate of speed at 1:58 a.m. Sept. 23, at Dundee and Sanders roads. The officer clocked the vehicle’s speed at 66mph in a 40mph. The officer activated his emergency lights and sirens, but the vehicle increased its speed and fled the area.
- Police received information at 1:36 a.m. Sept. 24, about a stolen vehicle at Lake Cook Road and Skokie Boulevard. When officers spotted the vehicle, a 2011 gray Toyota Camry, the vehicle made an abrupt turn and accelerated to a high speed. The vehicle fled from the officers after it disobeyed a red light and kept speeding.
- Police saw a vehicle, a 2013 black Hyundai Elantra, with an equipment violation at 8:48 p.m. Sept. 27, at Shermer and Waukegan roads. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle when it accelerated at a high rate of speed and fled from the officers.
THREATENING TELEPHONE CALLS
A staff member at a business in the 3700 block of Commercial Avenue reported at 9:56 p.m. Sept. 24, she had been receiving threatening telephone messages at work from an unknown person. The staff member said the messages might be related from a recent termination of an employee.
