Deal for $10 Saves Historic Northbrook Church

One of the oldest and most historical buildings in the village of Northbrook has apparently been saved.

An agreement between the Christian Science Congregation and the Northbrook Historical Society transfers ownership of the Christian Science Society church at 1812 Chapel Court from the Science Society to the Historical Society for $10, according to the Northbrook Star.

Following the building’s adoption, the Historical Society plans to raise $200,000 to fix what needs repair and provide an endowment for the future. The church will be used to store the society’s archives.
